A big part of this mindset is being more aware of the things you spend your money on right now. When people begin looking at their spending habits, they focus on the little cups of coffee or bagels. They often forget about the several hundred dollars each month they spend on repayments. These are the biggest expenses you want to get rid of once and for all.

Figure out which of your debts in incurring the highest interest charges. This is the debt you want to get rid of first. After all, it’s costing you the most amount of money. Work on your budget to see if you can find a few extra dollars to put towards increasing your minimum repayments and begin paying as much as you can off your balance. When that first debt is cleared, move to the next debt in line.
